The Inspiration Behind Canine Flow
Andy's Story
Andy was the heart and soul behind Aurora’s journey into rehabilitation and the reason Canine Flow exists today.
Born on Christmas Day 2018, Andy entered the world. When concerns arose about the development of his front legs, his breeders spared no time or expense seeking specialist care and answers. Their commitment gave Andy the very best start possible and ultimately helped change the course of his life.
Aurora had been in love with Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers for most of her life, but the first time she met Andy’s breeder, his parents and littermates in person, she was completely obsessed.
The first time she met Andy himself was in the waiting room of a veterinary clinic. A tiny red puppy climbed straight into her lap and made himself comfortable.
In true Andy fashion, he made the decision for everyone.
He chose her.
That same day, Andy underwent specialist assessment and surgery. The outlook was uncertain, and Aurora was told he may only have a few good years before requiring long-term pain management.
But Andy never cared much for other people’s expectations.
Determined to give him the best possible life, Aurora immersed herself in the world of canine rehabilitation. She spent years learning from industry leaders, travelling for additional training, and building the skills that would eventually become the foundation of Canine Flow.
Together, they embraced hydrotherapy, structured conditioning, laser therapy, nutrition, supplementation and strength work. What started as a mission to help one dog became a passion for helping many.
Andy didn’t just live comfortably. He thrived.
He became a successful DockDogs competitor, won multiple events, travelled across Australia, and spent his life doing exactly what he loved.
More than anything, Andy taught Aurora that a diagnosis does not have to define a dog’s future.
Canine Flow was built on him.
Every dog we help today carries a small piece of Andy’s legacy.
He was Ginger Spice. He was chaos, adventure, determination and unconditional love wrapped up in a red coat. He was the reason Aurora fell in love with rehabilitation, the reason she never stopped learning, and the reason Canine Flow exists today.
He was everything nice.
